A Woeful Tale

Next week, I'm supposed to be going to the Drake concert with my friend Simone. So we went to Wicker Park, a pretty hipster area of Chicago, looking in different resale and vintage stores for something to wear. In Buffalo Exchange I found this A.P.C creme button down. I thought it was a steal, seeing as it was only $24.50! I went to the dressing room to try it on, only to be disappointed. It was too small around my boobs, my itty-bitty, teensie-weensie boobs.  I've been looking a for an A.P.C shirt for awhile, and since I can't afford full price, resale is the way to go. Back on the hunt....

Below I have posted a few outfits that I like by A.P.C.

  1. I've been to Wicker Park several times in an attempt to get into thrifitng. I love the concept of the the rare pieces you find especially for such a low price. Maybe I'm just unlucky, but every time I go, I'm never able to find anything. Do you have any suggestions about thrifting or even certain shops you would recommend? I always hear people conversing about what they picked up and I'm just looking to join the conversation.

  2. I suggest that when you go thrifting, you go into it with an open mind. It is easy to become frustrated by the racks upon racks of unmarked clothing. If you are looking for gently used clothes I recommend second hand stores rather than actual thrifts stores. Sometimes thrifts just accept whatever junk they receive, where as second hand stores are more particular on the pieces they sale. A few second hand stores I like are Buffalo Exhange, Crossroads, and Plato's Closet; I like these because they are mainstream and well known so you get a variety of items. If you are looking for a specific look, as in a specific era, I recommend vintage stores. My top two favorites being Hollywood Mirror and Ragstock. I'm still looking for more second hand, vintage, and thrift stores that have a pretty good selection.
