FASHION. For some reason, my parents and I were talking about Cleopatra. I thought she was supposed to be this tanned Egyptian goddess-like beauty. My dad revealed to me that she was actually a fair Grecian woman, not a total Betty (Clueless lingo!). However, she was clever, which explains why she is honoured in modern culture. To put it in perspective for me, my dad said Kim Kardashian is along the lines of what Cleopatra would have looked like.
